In rich countries like the US, it will cost a lot of money. People will need to be relocated away from the coast. Things right on the coast will need to be replaced.

In poor countries with agricultural land near sea level (like Bangladesh) it will be more serious. They will lose agricultural land, and, already struggling to feed themselves, that will be disastrous. It doesn't have to be completely flooded. One soaking with salt water in a storm will ruin it. Some people, not all, will die of starvation.

It's not the end of the world or even the end of man. The actual areas that flood will be a small part. But it would be very bad. It's well worth it to take the necessary and practical steps to reduce it to where we can cope with the remaining flooding. Here's the plan.

Rising sea level is far from the center of the global warming problem. If the only effect were rising seas, I'd say let them burn every bit of fossil fuel. The real problem is that the relatively rapid rise in temperature triggered by anthropogenic CO2 will cause natural CO2 sequestration mechanisms to be overwhelmed, and will, like other warming periods in the past, cause a release of large amounts of natural CO2. This could lead to a tipping point, where over the next 2000 years or so the average worldwide temperature spikes by about 50 C. This would make large areas of the earth uninhabitable. This will cause mass extinction and human gigadeaths. I'm not saying this is certain, I'm saying it's not ruled out by our current scientific understanding of the problem.

Global warming is a scam by the Gore type that is making millions . I will not help as I don't want to see the poor people suffer. The hype has already caused the increase in all energy.
The data is not there to support it,that 1 deg in 100 years exceeds the accuracy of the thermometers of 100 years ago.
The CO2 is taken care of by the plants.
The methane is a lie because ma thane is very light and if u want to measure it is about 55 miles up. You can not find it at all,it is not in a large lake in the stratosphere.
To show u that Ice occupies more space than the melted water. In in the north is over water ,so try this . Fill a large galas to the rim with ice and then fill it till the water is to the rim. now let it melt and it will not run over.

We cant help it man Global Warming has gone beyond its level.

Raise in sea level? Low lying areas such as New York and its surroundings, Calcutta and many more states and cities are gonna get drowned.

As a concerned citizen you can prevent more rise in global warming by playing your part to know what part you have to play please if it is not too much trouble See The Movie"The Inconvenient Truth".

You can realize how to prevent global warming just as i have realized.

Regardless of the process the outcome is terminal for life on earth.

The Earth could end up like "Waterworld" with 99% of the earth's land masses under the ocean or we could see something similar to "Day After Tomorrow" where the global warming could start a cold trend.

I am not sure we as a people can do anything to reverse the process of global warming. The process has already began. Slow it down? Maybe, but the final result will happen now.

As the polar icecaps melt we could actually see a reversal of the poles that would destroy much of the world. There is no silver lining or miracle that can happen to change the events of where we are headed.

Flooding obviously. Holland would be in real trouble with just a small rise in sea level.

Well for starters a lot of people are going to lose their homes, a lot of Pacific islands are not very high above sea level and will just completely disappear.

Essentially no effect.

they THINK sea level is up a couple of millimeters... less than 1/4 inch.

The variance in tides is enough that 1/4 inch is essentially NOTHING.
