I used to have a very big, probably 4 ft by 1 ft mirror that hung on my door. One day it broke, fell, leaving half of it intact, but half broken. I carefully picked up all the broken pieces, layred trash bags over the bag, and then placed a towel around it, and did it again until I was quite sure there would be no danger for any trash men. Now though, Im stuck with this still very large peice of glass, and I'm not sure how I'm supposed to get rid of it.

Anyone know?

Sell it on E-bay!

People will buy anything there. Maybe describe it as an irregular artifact discovered while cleaning your house, and ask $50 for it, plus shipping costs.

Alternative, look at a stained glass shop. They have the ability to cut glass if it is a good one and a mirror piece fits in many stained and cut glass designs. They might accept it wrapped in cardboard with taped edges, and it would then be recycled as an art piece,

Put it in a cardboard box and break it into little pieces. Seal up the box with duct tape. Label the box "broken glass" in very large and clear lettering. Dump it at the curb for pickup.

I had to do something similar when I removed the (3) 4 ft x 8 ft mirrors from our living room wall.

Well, for babies with cradle cap we always wet the hair, and use baby oil and a fine tooth comb to get rid of chunks and flakes. Let the oil soak the scalp for several minutes before trying to comb out chunks. Follow up with Head and Shoulders or Selsum Blue. Repeat every few days until scalp heals. Continue to use dandruff shampoo 2-3 times a week to prevent this from happening again! This works for babies, aduts, dogs, etc.

Just break it into smaller pieces. You can lay it on the driveway, cover it with a towel, and hit it with a hammer to do that. Then put the pieces in the a heavy cardboard box and label it, "danger, broken glass". I did that once and watched the trash man pick it up. He did a double take on the danger sign and then picked it up. He was fine.

Wrap it in newspaper, hit it with something to break it up. Put the whole thing into a cardboard box and throw it in the trash.
