On page 5 of Une Barque Sur l'ocean by Ravel, there is this measure where the left hand plays argeggios and the right hand plays something like a trill ( thirty-second notes). The rhythm is VERY incoherent at this point and Ravel simply switches from triplets to thirty second notes. it's VERY confusing. Should I play the right hand like a trill, but keep it at a reasonable tempo or I should make sure it goes with the left hand? I AM DESPERATE. I can somehow keep the rhythm strict but it's gonna take soooooo much time.

I am answering a homework problem, and it says: Show, by means of tied notes (as few as possible in each case), the value of each dotted or doubly dotted note.
My question is this: should I write a doubly dotted eighth note as a quarter note tied to a dotted sixteenth, or should I write it as an eighth note tied to a sixteenth tied to a thirty-second? I have a feeling if I write it as the first option I have said here, that it will somehow be wrong because you're not supposed to tie a note to a dotted note or something. But if I choose the second option, I could get wrong for not using as few notes as possible. Someone who is knowledgeable on this subject please help me!

I'm looking for the name of a piece of music that my elementary music teacher would always play for us around Halloween. It was a classical piece that was played directly on the piano strings. I wish I could give more info than that. This was at Barretts Elementary School in Balwin, MO with Mrs. Ainsworth if that helps anyone.
Thanks!

Why many of the greatest classical composers were either Austrian or German? I would say that at least half of the greatest classical music composers of all times were teutons, but why? Is it something on the culture, geo-economics or education of those times? (I reject any answer related to race)

They don't necessarily have to be the most popular. Preferably some of the faster tunes, but anything good will do.

'Also Sprach Zarathustra' and 'Les Preludes' are probably the most popular, but I am looking for a fresher perspective. Please give me your reasons.

I am currently playing a Presto movement of a great Haydn sonata, but I am running into a roadblock: the speed. I can get most of the piece up to (or near) the tempo, but on some parts I'm stuck. Those would be the trills and naturally fast parts, where I'm playing D-F#-A-D (notes change, but hand position stays about the same) very quickly.

No matter what I do, I can' seem to get it that quick, and it's driving me crazy. I have trouble relaxing my hand, shoulder, and fingers, and it tenses up when I play those parts. My teacher is helping, but it's not working too well. I practice a lot, but it doesn't help either. I just have no idea what to do, and the competition is in about a month.

Does anyone have any tips/exercises or something? I really need the help.

I own a "Winter" baby grand piano that could very well be 50 years old or more, the keys are yellowed, it is miserably out of tune, and the strings are worn. Could someone estimate the price of replacing the ivory keys with new ones, replacing the strings, getting it tuned, and possibly getting it polished or anything to increase the desirability? We want our piano to look gorgeous just as much as we want the tone to be perfect. Thank you.
