That piano was built in Yamaha's U.S. factory in Thomaston, Georgia, in 1992

The piano retailed in 1994 at about US$4000. That would mean that today, in perfect condition, a retailer might get perhaps $1995 for that model. The U.S. made models do not hold their value as well as the Japanese made units. Lots of plastic parts in the action.

Putting a value on your piano is difficult without knowing more:

When was the last time the piano was tuned?
What is the condition of the soundboard and the bridges?
Do all the notes work properly? any sticking keys?
Does the action need regulating? What is the condition of the hammers? Are they deeply grooved? Are they very hard, giving a very bright sound? Are the dampers dry, making the strings buzz when they damp them?

And of course, just HOW beat up is the cabinet?

All of these things affect the value of a piano, because they represent a cost to the buyer of getting the piano into good working order.

An independant (not affiliated with a dealer) tuner/technician can tell you what the piano needs, and estimate a value. I cannot do it really without eyeballing it.

Your best price will be realized in selling it to the final user, Dealers will buy on a wholesale basis, and usually demand a pretty big markup on used instruments, because of the cost of getting then into showroom condition. So their offering price to you will not be attractive.

Best of luck!!

Hello, I would say the piano has been tuned within the last five years. beautiful condition. Our piano teacher just loved to tune it and said what a beautiful instrument it was. And it is. If the time comes to sell it I will find someone to take a look at it. Thank you.
