He is a good technical cellist who has also (to his credit) done a lot to promote classical music in general. Though admittedly his technique is excellent, his style/interpretation is a bit too dry/systematic/ choppy for my taste. Cello is a very powerful and rich-sounding instrument – almost a mini- orchestra all to itself – technique alone will only take you so far. No one, for instance, denies Steve Vai’s mastery of the guitar and the lightening fast series of (meaningless, at times) notes that he seems to be able to reproduce, but I still prefer to listen to Buddy Guy’s soulful interpretations. Technical mastery without the ability to make a connection with the soul of the listener doesn’t add up to much in music.

Here is a piece I like (Edit: One of his better performances, thanks in great part to Bach's incredible talent in making anyone sound sublime! No wonder he loves to play it so much! ... lol ):

He knows how to play the Cello.
When he learns to compose music, I will be impressed.
Most soloist gain fame from riding the coat tails of great composers. If I here him play Bach's Cello suite no. 1 again, I'm going to be sick.
