Why do people give other peoples answers a thumbs down when it's a really well thought out and legitimate answer? Take for example, this one guy asked for familiar classical pieces. I gave him a fairly long list of all the familiar and popular classical pieces I knew. And I got 2 thumbs down for it. What the hell? People need to be more respectful here.
I mean, I can understand if you gave someone a thumbs down for an answer you didn't agree with, but listing popular classical pieces is not a matter of opinion. Just saying.
Anyone agree with me?

Heya, I'm just wondering if I wanted to offer to give piano lessons to people do I have to get any kind of license or anything? I was just going to put an ad in a newspaper or something but my aunt told me she doesn't think it's as simple as that... I've been playing for years & I could teach a beginner anything they wanted whether it's actual playing or just theory and such, is that enough? I don't plan to make it a professional thing or anything, just I'm 15 and I'm kinda looking for ways to make money...

If someone prefers the music of Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninov to that of Mozart, Beethoven, Bach and Brahms, does this mean that their musical appreciation is immature?

is there anywhere where you can download modern sheet music for FREE???? ive looked on google thousands of times, but all that comes up are websites that send you to places where you have to pay, or classical music, or samples of songs. is there anywhere where i can find current songs for the piano without paying and easily? i would REALLY appreciate it!! also, please dont give me any sites that want you to pay....im not going to buy sheet music online, i just thought that if i could get it free itd be worth it. some songs i might be looking for are:
Collide by Howie Day
Green day songs
if God will send his anges by u2
every rose has its thorn by poison
and a lot more if i can find a website
Thanks a ton!!!

i have loved that song forever, and would like to learn to play it.
i bought it on iTunes and am learning it by ear, but its not working to well.

(if i could get it in alto clef, that would be amazing), as i play viola.

i can take cello music and read it and play it on viola, however.

I have an upright Currier piano, and I have no idea of its age but it's in need of tuning. It's in pretty good shape but the high notes are horribly out of tune. Does anyone know the average cost of tuning any piano at all?

Of course there are many types of piano and my interest at the moment is a baby piano.
Does a baby piano have the full range? Like the amount of keys on it? Baby pianos are much smaller so i was owndering if the range went down.

(I cannot believe the fabulous response to my Q on classical favorites)-my Q here is-in the scene above, what mood music favorite Cd would you be playing in the background-it must be mood music-not jazz, etc. must be only 1 CD and can be a group or one song-your call. More than 1 listing and you are disqualified-I do this to make you really think as ratteling off several is too simplistically easy and requires far less thought.

Please feel free to star, thumbs up or thmbs down. Explain why you choose the Cd you chose to help me decide on best choice answer
For fun,if you want to, what snack would you both be indulging in.?.

I have both a b-flat and an A clarinet. Recently my conductor gave me a piece in the key of G. Unfortunately, i have no idea how to transpose this to either of my clarinets. (i think it may work better with my A clarinet, but i'm not sure)
If anyone could give me a hand with this, that would be great. i have to play it for my conductor in a week's time.
Thanks.

Currently I have a Yamaha U1. I love the feel of the keys and sound. However, I'm looking for an upgrade so I would like to hear your opinion of the specific brands and models of pianos which you have used before or are currently using. Actually, I'm thinking about a 2nd hand Yamaha YUS3/5 (UX3/5). Anyone can share information about the abovementioned pianos?

Also, please share any reviews on 131cm (52") upright grand pianos of various brands with me? I would like to hear your views, especially if you've at least reached practical grade 7 and above.

Thanks.
