I have an assignment to do a comparison on absolute music and program music. I require a site, as I need to write up the bibliography as well. And not Wikipedia, as I'm not allowed to use it as a source. Thanks.

I know when I watch performances it looks somewhat easy, but what exactly does a conductor have to do? I keep thinking the just have to keep the timing and cue certain parts of the orchestra at key times but I don't know exactly. Please let me know.

I do not play the violin, but I have always wondered if the chin rest changes the sound produced by the violin in any way since whenever I see people play it they move their heads back and forth the same way on the chin rest. I suspect they are just really in to the music and move their heads accordingly, but if not let me know.

Hello, I'm looking for the sheet music to the Rach 3's cadenza (the lighter, toccata-like version NOT the original version). If anyone could please post a link to the sheet music of the cadenza of Rachmaninoff's 3 concerto (1st movement), I'd be well chuffed :).

Bear in mind, I would prefer the lighter, shorter version.

I know there are some amazing ones that were never recorded like Anton Rubinstein or Liszt, but who do you think the best pianist on record is. Also does anyone have any recommendations for me on this subject: my favorite pianist is Van Cliburn. I was lucky enough to see him live 2 summers ago at Interlochen Camp. I absolutely love his recordings and him as a person. Can you name any pianist who is similar to him in that he/she is a wonderful pianists and a wonderful person. so essentially this is a 2 part question. I would appreciate your opinion. Also if anyone has any information about Van Cliburn as a person i would appreciate it too.
