Hi, I was looking to see if anybody can offer advise about online piano lessons. Do they work. Has anyone tried them for kids?

Online you can learn notes, fingering, note durations -- that's about it.

The computer can't listen to you and give you feedback on your performance, dynamics, phrasing, whether you are using your muscles correctly and efficiently, and a whole host of other things that only a teacher can do sitting next to you. Piano playing is more than just playing the correct notes and counting. At some point in time you have to make music, too.

Online piano lessons? I have never heard of those. I can't really see how that would work. Who is going to really help you or tell you how horrible/good you sound?

Hey I found this site - it has free piano lessons on it. Try this first, if it seems to work then give the other ones a shot. This way you get a feel for it without losing money.
