Ok... I totally forgot the name or number of this symphony, but I'm pretty sure it was Mozart or Bach and I hear it everywhere. It starts out with women singing(kind of opera-ish or choir-ish), and its very slow and tranquil. It was used in so many ballets and tv shows... but I cant remember its name... Help :)

Hello, I pulled off one of the metal xylophone bars at school. I cannot put it back in. The xylophone looks something like this: http://www.usedottawa.com/classified-ad/3074280&category=percussion-drums
what holds the bar in place is a flexible round rubber which is a bit larger than the hole on the bar (which is why I cannot put it back in.)

My friend is doing a duet pantomime scene and in it and it is very 17th century French farce. Putting on huge dresses and corsettes etc. Hilarity hopefully. She is allowed to use background music for the scene and she needs a piece from the period and setting that has no words in it. Your suggestions are greatly appreciated!

I'm looking for classical type music that's written in a minor key, therefore giving it an "evil" sound. Any pieces in a minor key are okay. Thanks in advance.

Ok I am doing a report for my music class. I went to a concert and the movment went: Adagio, vivace, adagio, vivace, Giga: Allegro.
I understand what Adagio means. But I am having a hard time finding the difference between the Vivace and Allegro.
I searched for definitions and found that Allegro means cheerful or brisk; but commonly interpreted as lively, fast.
And that Vivace means: vivace – very lively, up-tempo.
I dont really understand the difference could someone please explain it to me in normal terms where I would see the difference. Thanks so much.

I remembered that in the 5th grade, my teacher started introducing us to music, specifically classical. She would play this piece composed by an American Composer, and it had this "wild west" theme to it. Does anyone know the name of the American composer that composed it or maybe the name of the song? Thanks.

My guitar teacher has been teaching me how to play classical music and i find it pretty cool, but there is one problem. I would like to create something myself. I mean i know how to make a song with chords and using a chord progression and i could make a lead part for it, but when it comes to classical music i dont know how to put it together. Does a classical composer use chords in a certain key to find the notes they want to use or do they use scales in a certain key? So if any one knows how to compose a classical song (on the guitar) please explain to me the steps.

Every year, I am amazed!

La Boheme certainly isn't very Christmassy, and old Fledermaus is not really all that festive and beautiful. Amahl and the Night Visitors will not do.

There ought to be something that is lush & romantic, beautiful to look at, full of gorgeous music, fabulous instruments, beautiful scenery,.....it amazes me.....we not only have all the instruments of the modern orchestra, we have all those nice instruments we use now in 'early music' ... the ballet, Nutcracker, has shown us the lure of toys and snowy Christmas trees that come to life, even though the story is not really for grown-ups.

What we need is something that is beautiful to look at, great for a night at the opera, just right for children, and fun for the opera company. Have I missed anything? The big opera houses are behind the times? No. People are just so "right there" for a new opera or two !

I can smell peppermints right now...but where is the music? Please?
