I'm looking for classical type music that's written in a minor key, therefore giving it an "evil" sound. Any pieces in a minor key are okay. Thanks in advance.

I'm in band. I play contra alto clarinet and bari sax. One of my solo's this year is Handel's Allegro in F Minor. It was an expression ("therefore"). Please refrain from telling me that I don't know anything about classical music. Thanks.

Here are a number of darker-sounding but magnificent pieces played a variety of ways. Most seem to be trotted out around Halloween, but how many people never explore the amazing world of classical music?
Peer Gynt Suite no 1, Op. 46: no 4, Hall of the mountain king by Edvard Greig
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qJCefWOecQU
I've heard this music performed a variety of ways, but this is a first for me. It just shows that the music is as magnificent today as it ever was. Some listings refer to this as "In the Hall of the Mountain King", and I'm sure you'll recognize it.
Ritual Fire Dance by Manuel De Falla
This is an orchestral performance of the music:

I have a recording of it played on a Wurlitzer pipe organ!
Carmina burana: no 1, O fortuna by Carl Orff

All classical isn't "ancient".
Toccata and Fugue in D minor by Johann Sebastian Bach
This is my absolute favorite! You'll think of a number of horror movies at which some mad scientist or other played this on a pipe organ towering two stories or more.
This is a performance on YouTube:

Night on Bald Mountain by Modest Mussorgsky
If you've seen "Fantasia", you know this music. Here's part of that segment of the Disney classic:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V8Ca_edg6RE
This isn't classical, but it has a dark sound. It's the music Davy Jones plays in "POTC II":
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rw-gtGxkt8k
This isn't classical either but is a popular piece: Wizards in Winter. It might be too spightly though:

As there are far too many classical pieces to name that are simply "written in the minor key," here are a couple that I know of that have specific titles or backgrounds to them intended by the composer that are spooky...
1) Mussorgsky's A Night on Bald Mountain - it's supposed to be describing a witch's sabbath
2) Saint-Saen's Danse Macabre - meaning literally the "Dance of Death"
3) Scriabin's Sonata Op. 68, with the nickname "Black Mass." His Op. 36 is in fact titled Poeme Satanique (Satanic Poem).
These are all I can think of off the top of my head that are actually meant to sound sinister. Good luck!

Music cannot sound evil. Evil is a philosophical concept and music can only convey human emotion (not philosophical concepts). At best it is highly subjective as to what constitutes any one specific interpretation of a piece of music. However, I think I know the kind of thing you are talking about... How about Scriabin's Piano Sonata No.9. op.68 "Black Mass."

John William's work for Star Wars contain a number of ominous pieces.
Holst's The Planets piece "Mars Bringer of War" fits the bill too.

These might sound cliche, but: Mussorgsky's "Night on Bald Mountain", Mozart's "Dies Irae", Orff's "O Fortuna", Saint Saens' "Danse Macabre", and (my personal favorite) Gyorgy Orban's "Daemon Irrepit Callidus". Hope those help.

A minor key is not actually evil soun...it´s just somehow resembles sad mood. More evil it gets when you use microtones, disharmony and when the main thing is not melody or harmony, but timbre. You get pieces like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GZgbt9sTcY
