I remembered that in the 5th grade, my teacher started introducing us to music, specifically classical. She would play this piece composed by an American Composer, and it had this "wild west" theme to it. Does anyone know the name of the American composer that composed it or maybe the name of the song? Thanks.

I am guessing that you mean Aaron Coplands "Rodeo", and the movement you are referring to is "Hoedown"

You can listen to some of it here:

Glinzek is spot on, it's "Rodeo" by Copeland.

Musician, composer, teacher.

It sounds like it may be Aaron Copeland. I am not familiar enough with his music to give you any names. It could also be Charles Ives.
