is my piano composing any good?

Some very interesting piano figurations there especially the rhythmic hiccups that you insert here and there. Did you perform that and then quantize it? Has an improvisatory feel to it.

As a composition, I would say that you tend to stick to an idea too long after it has been established. The ensuing ideas feel like an organic outgrowth of the what comes before, that is a positive. The circle-of-5th harmonic sequences tend to get a little old and sound a little tired after a while -- they have become a cliche over the years -- so you might want to cast you figurative gestures into a fresher harnonic pattern. For minimalists you are too harmonically active. For traditionalists you are too harmonically static -- stuck in one key and going over the same progression again and again in a chaconne-like fashion. For the 21st century ear, you are too harmonically tame -- too much reliance on traditional triadic harmonies. In your defense you have thrown some dissonant elements in, but they seem out of place and do not grow logically out of the music.

Overall, a very interesting and active sound -- but it I do not get a sense of forward motion, of a drive toward a goal. You have not taken advantage of the pianos range to create a sense of space, and you have not used enough contrast in rhythmic activity to give a sense of direction, a feeling of growing intensity.

it's a very good start. I liked much of what I heard.
