I need a list of movies or television shows that use Barber's Adagio. Or, if you know of a web site that has that info...

thanks

In 2004, Barber's masterpiece was voted the "saddest classical" work ever by listeners of the BBC's Today programme.
The piece can be heard in films such as Platoon, The Elephant Man, El Norte, Amélie, Lorenzo's Oil and Reconstruction. Because of this it is used in several episodes of The Simpsons in scenes lampooning sadness and destruction ("Strong Arms of the Ma" and "Marge Gamer").

This reminds me of the World Trade Center on 9/11. One of the newscasts-ABC, I think it was- played this in the background, and there wasn't a dry eye in our home that day. I cannot hear this piece without having all the scenes of 9/11 immediately coming to mind.

Ghost and Platoon, off the top of my head these are the only two I can think of, this is one of my favorite pieces, I especially like the one done by Liona Boyd, she's a classical guitarist, this may still be on youtube, I have the Cd....and I think I've worn it out !!!!!!!!!

Besides the most well known instance in Platoon, it is also played in the Seinfeld episode, the fatigues. It is about George's dad in Korea, and it parodies Platoon.

chessmaster1018's list may not be complete, but you can check the fact that the music was used in the movies by looking up the film in the internet movie database (imdb.com).
