For a band that sang only beach songs, they sure are heaped upon with "great" praise. After all, they were the best the American music producers could come up with to counter the British Invasion (that and unfairly ignoring Motown...this coming from a white guy who wasn't even born yet). What the hell was so special about these guys? Brian Wilson was not the great songwriter everyone makes him out to be (c'mon now, Peter Cetera was so much better). The rest of the guys were hacks. Why the adoration?

I do not understand why the public still fawns over this guy. "King of Rock and Roll?" How about king of the no-talent trailer trash set? He only wrote three of his own songs and they were co-writes at best. All he had was a voice, and that was it. What was so special about this guy?

It is funny that the so-called "king" died on the "throne"!

Throughout my life I listened to music, and hearing misheard lyrics is the funniest thing that ever happened to me when I was listening on the radio! Here are some of my examples of such experiences:

1.) When I first listened to the chorus of KT Tunstall's "Suddenly I See", I thought that the song title that I accidentally heard was "Strawberry Ice Tea".

2.) I thought that I heard "marry me"- as in participating in holy matrimony- in the chorus when I first heard "The Kill" by 30 Seconds To Mars. The lyric is actually "bury me", as in burying a dead body.

3.) Here's a correct lyric to The Who's "Behind Blue Eyes": "Nobody knows what it's like to be the bad man". I once thought the singer was mentioning Batman the superhero!

4.) Instead of hearing "I bless the rains down in Africa" in Toto's "Africa", I misheard it as "I guess it rains down in Africa".

I'm now asking you the question: What was the funniest misheard lyric that you've ever heard? Please give me examples.

Does anyone else miss the old "metal" days like Metallica...i hate the new screamo crap that is considered "metal"...you can't understand a word they are saying. All music now is getting pretty crappy..does anyone else think so?

I really regret missing 1973-1975 Genesis (I was at primary school) and they apparently recreate the whole thing, but I'd like to hear someone's opinion. This must sound so sad to anyone who thinks genesis are just phil collins singing "Abacab" or "I can't dance", or whatever they do now, but that's, erm, progress, I guess.....

I was puking a little as I wrote this. It was hard to write this. This question was my friend's idea (I dunno how we're friends cuz we don't really like the same things). Anyway, I don't think there are any bands, maybe just a few, that you can compare with Led Zep. Obviously I pick Led Zep.

Think about it:

Hit Me Baby (one more time)
Ice Ice Baby

Surely a couple of music geniuses like those two could come up with some off the wall stuff.
