Nirvana - Even though formed in the late eighties Nirvana was an important band that created a minor revolution in rock music which gave a much needed change to all the tired hair/metal bands of the mid to late eighties. This band help create a whole new sound which the public obviously quickly embraced and helped influence many great rock bands to follow.

Nine Inch Nails - Trent started his project (NIN) in the 80's, made it through all of the 90's, and still continues to make new music. Definitely my favorite.

Radiohead
and Porcupine Tree but I wouldn't label them "90's" cause they really don't have the 90's sound at all.
