"I'd like to teach the world to sing (in Perfect harmony)" was a pop song, but started as an advertising jingle for Coca-Cola. The original singers were the Hillside Singers. It was in 1971. The next time I heard it was as a commercial song, since it was so popular. Coca Cola removed its name from the song, and donated all the royalties to UNICEF, as far as I know. It's been recorded by many singers since then.
