The video girls decide to show up and "shake it" for the camera. It's sad that a female would actually lay on a bed (wearing a bikini) while Rappers throw money on her to "make it rain", but she has to deal with it, and she gets paid for it. When a chick shows up for a video and she sees that her outfit is a skimpy bikini, she has a choice, and she knows that she may be viewed as a sexual object. U won't catch me doing that; they don't represent me.

Most video girls that are getting paid know what they are doing (working). Then u have the "other" video girls that want their 15 minutes and will do anything to get it. They get "caught up" in the hype. Some guys that I know are hung up on dating a chick that has the video girl look. U also have females that try to emulate what they see in the video (girls dancing like strippers while guys pay attention). I know people like that, but it does not phase me. Some guys see girls as sex objects and vice versa. Yes, the females in the typical hip hop video may be viewed as an object because they're basically a prop.

no i dont agree w/ them being viewed as objects..those women in the videos are exactly that, Women..they are old enough to make their own decisions, nobody forces them to do anything...i think often times people make a ruckus out of women in music/videos just to add to a list of things they dont like about rap/hip hop

I think that using women in rap videos are a good idea. As long as it is done in a sexy and tasteful manner. (yeah you can do both) Some times songs can be vulgar and lude and their corresponding music videos are usually vulgar and lude. Common's "Go" was a hot song with and equally hot video full of beautiful women. All of them portrayed tastefully.

i agree that women are exploited in hip hop/rap videos. BUT, these women are grown and made the decision to be sex objects on their own. I can't feel pity or sympathy for a women who thinks her boobs or her body are so valuable that it should be completely exposed for the world to see. when i see women in music videos the chorus of Poison by BBD runs through my head.. "can't trust a big butt and a smile..." lol. My whole thing is... young females today go out dressed like prostitutes but.. try demanding respect but aren't entitled to it. Yes u are a sex object and yes men are going to disrespect u, but u knew that before u put the 2 in. mini skirt on so why are u trippin? thought today would be different than yesterday? (not u BUT hip hop hoes) once women have more pride and respect for themselves they will be respected properly... as for these women out here who are pretty as an angel but stupid as hell... they gets what they deserve! my mama always told me... "you are very pretty, but ur better off being smart... u'll thank me later" and I DO... sometimes guys admire me... and that's respectful but I have NEVER been disrespected for overexposing myself... my dad would kill me if i did. sometimes we're together and i'll see him looking at female who looks younger than me... i'll say... why are you looking would you like it if i wore things like that? and he says, "shut up girl.. that's just a piece of a$#... ur marriage material.. now gon about ya business" lol... and that's the way it goes...
T.I. said it well, "respek aint given its earned"

because rap is a huge part of whats in today and alot i mean ALOT of kids of all different races listen to it and watch it.. and ALot of the time in those videos the rapper would use degrading demaning words directed to black women in addition to the black women shakin the buts and all that.. with girls gone wild and playboy its the girls choice and theres no one degrading them and telling them how worthless they are.. its a choice.. it would be different if black women would be doing the rapping and dancing.. but its not.. its the black guy.. or white guy doing the rapping and the black girl in the video shakin her butt while shes listin to this rapper dude degradin her callin her w hore and all that... just watch it and see for yourself.. who wouldnt get offended.. theres a difference.. BIG difference lol
