I am trying to write a quick little fairy tale.
All I need is a story in which someone wishes very hard for an object to materialize, and then suddenly, maybe because some fairy makes it possible, "blipp!", there it is.

Do any of you feel inspired?
I'd be eternally grateful.
It's for a lecture, I want to open it humorously.

Thanks...?

The school year is beginning. I'm new to this school district and new to teaching. We've had orientation, workshops, and meetings this past week. I've been thrown into group meetings with some very unprofessional-behaving teachers. Administration does not seem to care about their comments. What should I do? How should I behave? Thank you.

I am a primary school teacher teaching a Reception class.
I have 5 groups of children and like to give each group a name on a particular theme:
e.g. jungle animals - parrots, giraffes, lions, monkeys and elephants.
I have come up with a few ideas but not 100% happy with them - any suggestions?

Is the government going to do anything about underpaid math/science teachers who actually want to be there and put effort into grad school?

When is it going to become a massive problem and our intelligence level and successes in the classroom change?

I have this teacher that I thought was a major b*tch. That's only because I knew her outside of the classroom and she would say something smart eleck or always give me this evil look when she didn't even know me. But now that I have her as a teacher, she seems like a nice person..probably because she's being nice to the preppy people since the majority of our class is made up of preps.

I once had a 2nd grade teacher say, "I don't like parents visiting my classroom." But the best was a 6th grade teacher, at a planned parent visitation night, upon being asked about my son's grade: "I'm three weeks behind on my grading, so I can't really tell you where he stands right now."

Is there a web site that you can go to find the degrees that teachers have. I have heard that some teachers at my daughters school do not have degrees to teach, that they are in the process of geting them and going to college and teaching at the same time. I am interested in finding out. Any help would be appreciated.

I only accept it from my 8th graders one day late but take off 50%. I figure it doesn't ruin their grade that way, but they still fail the assignment.
