well, don't be worried about hazing, i don't know ANYONE who was hazed... be prepared for a lot more homework than you're used to, and take it easy for a while, you don't have to do everything at once... be sure to ask teachers for help if you're stuck or confused, it's their job. other than that, avoid the cafeteria until you know if the food is eatable (unlikely, but still...)

Before making your schedule, check, double check and then triple check with your school counselor to make sure you are taking the right classes. Also ask around if possible about the instructors, former students can be a good reference point in getting good teachers. Most importantly, keep up with your studies. It is very tempting to stay up and party all the time but it will get you in the end. Enjoy!!!!

Pay attention in class, ask questions if you don't understand, do your homework. Don't waste time trying to be cool. You have 4 short years in which to learn something worth while, while it's free; after that you'll have to PAY for education. 10 years from now you won't remember who your classmates were, but your education will be paying your rent (or not).

find lots of buddies to hang with and just be nice to every one.especially your teachers.they will be the ones to make friends with.
