I have been playing drums for a little under 5 years now and I've thinking of giving lessons. My worry however is that I am not qualified to give lessons because my ability is limited from having played only as long as I have. Nevertheless, there are things I can teach, and I was thinking of doing it for about $20 an hour.
Am I too inexperienced to teach? Is it irresponsible to assume I can guide a beginning drummer when the newbies should maybe take advice from a seasoned professional?

I watched this rather stupid comedy called "Legally Blonde". The reason I call it a stupid comedy is mainly because of this scene I saw in beginning.

Near the beginning, she's in class at Harvard and the teacher just randomly picks her out of anyone to answer a question about what's being taught in class, she doesn't have the answer and the teacher tells her to just leave for the day.
What the hell ws up with that? That was like, really messed up..

Why is that so? Teachers should be paid really well. They could form a huge union, demand better salaries, have their own retirement pension plans (like in Ontario, Canada).

A teacher friend of mine in Texas says that she only gets 3 weeks of summer vacation because after school gets out, she's got meetings, paperwork, etc. Can that really be true? I've considering teaching in Texas, but really prize my summer vacation to be able to study abroad and visit family. Three weeks just doesn't seem like enough to me when you consider that teachers usually put in more than 40 hours a week, year round with no extra compensation.

We have been studying Wren & Martin's High School English Grammar for the past half-a-century.
Has any one brought out a better Grammar book, updating the modern use of English vocabulary?

i think a girl in my year 9 class in hurting herself. She don't really talk alot or fit in the class she looks like she has been crying alot. Is very tearfull in class and seems very depressed. The other children in the class do pick on her and she don't have friends. Yesurday she was geting something out of her bag under the table and her sleeve moved up and i could see deep scars and cuts. I've never come across this sort of thing before. And i am unsure of my footing here. Should i try and talk to her? I'm just really unsure of how to deal with this. I mean what if its not self harm them i've upset her for no reason.

.I need a 4 measure example of a rhythm in 3/4 time...

That's my main question, so whoever has a written example (that only uses dot's, quarters, halves, whole's and eighth's.) will be selected for best answer... I'm teacher a Music in Rhythm class, and I'm teacher about 3/4 times... I can't manage to find anything simple enough for the kids to clap.

Also, I'm looking for a way that I can teacher then why it's called 3/4. The 3 stands for how many beats in the measure and the 4 stands for what note gets one count... These kids are, honestly, not the smartest kids, and I'm wondering what's the best way to explain that to them?
