With graduating early it would mean that I will only have to cover 18 credits and with the four years of high school i would have to cover 24 credits? To me i believe that waiting for the 24 credits is a waste of time. But the major problem is that I would be missing my grad-night as well as my prom. Even though I am a hard worker( maintaing a 4.9 gpa) i love to have fun with my peers. What should I do, get an early start to college life or Stick out the four years?

My son & i have had this conversation over & over again about him slowing down & checking over his work while in the classroom. His grades were ok while in public school but now that he has changed to a private school they are not all that good.
All of his teachers since 1st grade has said the same thing about him.....He is capable of doing the work he just rushes through it & does not take the time to check over it when he completes it. Help!!

I am an educator working in the baltimore city public school system (Neighborhood/Zone Schools). I would like anyone with strategies to answer my question to help me to help the students that I service.

The students that I service are poor. Most of the students do not live with both parents. Most do not know or live with their fathers.
Many have parents that abuse alcohol or drugs. Many have been physically or mentally abused by someone in their immediate family.

The overwhelming majority are below grade level. All too often the curriculum gets watered down because the students are below grade level. Also, many of the students are graduating because of informal social promotion. This happens because teachers feel sorry for the students and/or teachers get blamed when the failure rate is too high. Schools get sanctions when the graduation rate does not meet the No Child Left Behind Act's AYP (Annual Yearly Progress) for the school's graduation rate.

I speak French fluently and I am the first person in my family to go to college. I have a weighted GPA of 4.12 academic GPA 3.7 . By the end of my senior I would have taken 13 exams passing 7 exams. I was the president of the French club and this year I am the president of the European Club. I played in the advanced Jazz band my junior year only because it was difficult( I played the piano). I took two other foreign languages at school. spanish 1-2,3-4,AP Language, this year AP Span lit.(only non-native in class), also took german 7-8 got a B both semesters(studied a lot over the summer). Language and music are my hobbies. I took private tennis lessons. I have a lot SAT of 1580 and ACT composite 23. I did 50 hours community service. Volunteered 150 hours as teacher's aide and outside work. I also went to Long Beach City college in the summer of my sophmore year to take Intermediate Algebra and Spanish 3. As a result I am in AP Span Lit and AP Calc this year. So will I be accepted ?
