Get an early start to college. If you are focused in life and school, don't wait around till 4 years just because you missed out on your grad night or prom. Believe me, if I had a chance to go back and do three years, I would. It's a great thing because you can become a doctor, for instance, at an early age. So think over it again.

Do not graduate a year early. You can work and go to school the whole rest of your life. Your only in high school once and only for four years. If you would like to go to college than consider taking a class in high school that would give you college credit. (many offer them). Or just take a couple classes at high school then go to college at the same time while your going to high school. Trust me on this.. stick out the four years and be a teen while you can. You can do school and work after college but you can't go back to high school. Good luck!

I did what Tom said, and basically just blew off and partied all year. Had a great time, but definitely would have been better off going to college a year earlier.
Two key questions:
1) How old are you? If you were born earlier in the year, say Sept or Oct, you're older than your peers and not too far behind the class in front of you.
2) How well did you do on the PSAT/SAT? If you made as high of a score as the people in the class ahead of you, you're ready.

Stay in high school- you can get more college credit if you take the 24 credits (and as you have to pay for anything in college, the more free credit, the better in my opinion). Enjoy your life- you only get high school once. Is it worth never experiencing any of that for the chance of getting a college degree one year early?

There are many pros and cons.
My roommate graduated early last year (i go to a boarding school) and in my opinion, we go to highschool for 4 years for a reason. Those 4 years make a big difference maturity wise then the maturity level of only 3 years of highschool.
Now, if you are impatient and want to start right away, go right ahead. I myself also want to graduate early.
But really think about your decision, dont just jump to a conclusion.
In the long run, is prom going to matter in 20 years?? will you still be friends with everyone from highschool in 20 years??
good luck to you and happy holidays!!

You need the same amount of credits to graduate in 3 years. I skipped my sophomore year of high school, but I still need 4 english and 4 math credits to graduate.

Stay in high school and enjoy the experience. You'll be sorry if you leave early. Devour the social and academic sides of the experience. Play sports. Try some things you never thought you could do -- cross country running, drama, filmmaking, singing, etc.
And do have fun with your peers.

There are Pros and Cons either way.
The bottom line is this: If you feel you have had a sufficient level of social development, move on.
You will make plenty of new friends if you want. If not, stay the full four years and gain the social maturity needed for college.
Good Luck!

just suck it up and stay for four years. That way you can advance with your peers and have all the social experiences. In the grand scheme of things what does a year really matter?

Yes, you can take the extra year to start taking collage, take a break, or work longer to save up for collage.
