hearing is something which u do in ur boring.. sleppy.... class u would be hearing that ur teacher is saying something but u don't know wat he or she said.

........and listening is something which u do while seeing ur t.v program..... u r aware of wat the t.v says ... sometimes it jst gets byhearted bcause u were listening it not hearing

listening -- hearing carefully or attentive hearing

I will give this a try. The word hearing is used when you are talking about all the sounds that your ears are picking up. Listening is used when you are actively paying attention to the sounds for one reason or another.

Understanding of sounds or range with in which the sound can be heard. Also, it is used with different context in court as 'opportunity to state one's case or trial of the case before court'. Therefore, this word is a pun, which means a word having two different meanings.

"Listening" means...

'making an effort to hear something or paying attention to other person's speech, etc.,'
