I speak French fluently and I am the first person in my family to go to college. I have a weighted GPA of 4.12 academic GPA 3.7 . By the end of my senior I would have taken 13 exams passing 7 exams. I was the president of the French club and this year I am the president of the European Club. I played in the advanced Jazz band my junior year only because it was difficult( I played the piano). I took two other foreign languages at school. spanish 1-2,3-4,AP Language, this year AP Span lit.(only non-native in class), also took german 7-8 got a B both semesters(studied a lot over the summer). Language and music are my hobbies. However I was not in sports. I have a lot SAT of 1580 and ACT composite 23. I did 50 hours community service. Volunteered 150 hours as teacher's aide and outside work. I also went to Long Beach City college in the summer of my sophmore year to take Intermediate Algebra and Spanish 3. As a result I am in AP Span Lit and AP Calc this year. So will I be accepted ?

my schedule this year AP CHEM, AP CALCULUS, AP PHYSICS B, AP SPAN LIT and other. Will my SAT and ACT have an effect on admission. I mean I am the only person in family to go to college. I also wrote in the essay statement. THat coming from middle school I had a 2.89 GPA 8th grade. Now 4.12GPA and 3.7 GPA unweighted. do tehy look that strongly as improvement?

I would say that you have a very likely chance of being accepted. You have a well-rounded education combined with various extracurricular activites and community service. You are able to maintain an exceptional GPA while balancing your time. The main factors for acceptance will be the talent of the candidate pool and how many applications are received. But, speaking from just reading your background info, I would say they would be wrong to deny you acceptance to their institution. Good luck!

With a university like Stanford it's always a toss-up...

You certainly have the credentials to get into any decent university in the country even though your SAT is a bit low...

I suggest you apply to Stanford as your dream school. Also apply to backups such as UC's and the like. I am sure you will get into some UC schools (which are all very good), but don't be surprised if Stanford rejects you. However I think you have a better chance than most people...but do you have a better chance that the others who applied to Stanford from around the world?

I say go for it, since in your case it really is a toss-up.

i think that u will be accepted cuz u speak diferent languages and u did lots of activities..i think u will for sure....hoep u do!!!!!!1good luck
