I think school should start at, at least 9:30 am.The school my son goes to starts at 7:30 and the buses arrive at 6:30, so if u ride the bus u have to wake up at latest 6:00.And alot of people have homework and stuff, and stay up late until 12:00 or after. and kids dont fall alsleep right away, in fact alot of kids have insomina, and they get like only 7 hours of sleep.
also they should put test(sat. tests) after one hour when school starts.
What time do u think school should start?

The private sector almost always pays better and works more efficiently. Most teachers complain about a lack of funds, red tape, and many other things, yet think that public education is the answer.

In my opinion, with the privatization of education students will learn more, teachers will get paid better, schools will be more efficient, teachers will have less beaurocracy, and everything improves.

What are teachers afraid of???

It is seriously perplexing. Studies show a VERY low correlation between money spent and quality of education, yet people still want to try to solve the problem with money.

Our system is openly criticized. Studies show that we're becoming worse and worse, yet people think that "public education" is clearly where it's at.

People think that a "computer in every classroom" will solve the problem, then we get a computer (that collects dust) and it's a remodel, smaller classes, etc.

Why are we so reluctant to overhaul the system???

they could handle it- kids don't get enough credit, they're usually smarter than adults. elementary school is the perfect time to introduce Leary's research to a child (while their minds are still open, and they haven't been brainwashed by the conventions or our retarded culture)

who knows, maybe even have a field "trip" at the end of the unit...

what would be the best way to pitch this to the district?

Im a junior in college majoring in elementary education. I choose my major becuase i love children. And because it gives me the chance to shape childrens minds so they can have a positive attitude towards life. however when compared to my boyfriends profession of being a Neurosurgeon... me being a teacher pales in comparison. He saves peoples lives on a daily basis. And sometimes i feel like being a teacher isnt as noble as it used to be. Is it still a noble job?

I've been teaching for 8 years. Each year it gets tougher and tougher. But, I can't see myself doing anything else. What is the one thing you wish a teacher could do for your child? Have you ever met a person who you know shouldn't be anywhere near kids let alone be a teacher? Believe me I have!
