I think it's a case of back to basics. I believe primary level children need to be taught their times tables, phonetics, hand writing, spelling, reading and arithmetic. Maybe once a week allow them to draw and be creative as this will boost their confidence. It has been proved after extensive research that the only thing computers teach children is how to use a computer. Children are losing the ability to communicate. If a child asks a question always find the time to answer it. The most important thing you can try to impart on young children is to give them a thirst for knowledge.Children like praise, as we all do, and even if a child only has 2 out of 10 answers correct, they must be praised for these then ask them what the problems were with the incorrect 8 answers. You must be patient at all times, remember you cannot give a child more than your time. Teaching is not a profession to be taken lightly. Good luck.

It's best to find out each student's learning style and let them develop how they learn on their own. It's not fun if it's not something that holds your attention. I know this from attending public school for eight years of my life. The classes were boring because everything was the same. I'm not the person sitting next to me, so I'm going to learn differently than they do. I think that's the key to learning, is to develop your own personal style. ^_^
