A lot of people and even some educationists are of the opinion that a child can begin pre-school from age 2. I find this not acceptable. Children in general are inquisitive and eager to learn. That does not mean that they can start pre-school from age 2. I think from age 4 or 5 is a good start.

I work in a day care and i would like to have the real policy for outdoor trips off site. I know it is 1 to 5 but I need the "official written policy" My DNA book is a condensed version and does not show this information. I have tried the ministry of community and social services with no luck

I am a recent Fine Arts grad who would love to be a pre-school teacher (teaching art and everything else).
I would like to know what the starting salaries are for both public and private schools in New York city if I had a Masters degree.
Is a masters degree even necessary? Should I just get a teaching certificate?

For example:

Rock a bye baby....(the cradle falls)
3 Blind Mice (they chop off their tales)
Ring Around the Rosey (about the black plague)
Humpty Dumpty (he cracks himself open)
Little Miss Muffet (spiders scares her away)
Old Mother Hubbard (her dog starves)
Hey Diddle Diddle (were they on acid?)
The Old Woman Who Lived in a Shoe (she beat all of her kids and sent them to bed without supper)
Jack and Jill (Jack breaks his "crown")

Did I forget any?

Why are they all so morbid?

Is an Asian educational system more advantageous than a "learning through play" environment? Or do they both have their unique benefits?

I am a parent who is deciding the best place to put their child in school while I work. There is a center that emphasizes "Learning through Play". Would anyone know the benefits and competencies of this type of learning environment compared to other pre-schools or day care centers?

I just started at a child care facility, but I am concerned about the rules there: we can not use any type of disinfectant any where, we must only use cold water on the floors, even on the changing tables, and most of the workers don't wash between changing dipers or even wash the changing table down with a wipe. also my trainer seems a bit rough with the children, taking away there blankets and telling the children that they were bad so there treasured possesion was thrown away. She is very rough at handling them when parents arn't around, and talks bad about the parents and the owner to me and others. she has worked in day care for a long time, and this is my first real day care job, what should I do?

Muslims try to ban pork and bacon in the UK? My childs nursery were having a day where the children had to bring in their national dish. Being Irish, we packed her off to school with a large portion of boiled bacon, cooked in the cabbage water which she shared with ALL the other children including Muslems. The teachers couldn't say no as they would have discriminated against us.

I had to laugh.

The owner of the childcare is emotionally abusive. She does not allow the children to use the bathroom until she feels like it. The state is involved, but they come in, ask her questions, she lies, they leave and the owner continues to do whatever she wants. This daycare/preschool owner should not be left alone with children. Her staff of five have ALL quit working for her in one month.I live in Salem oregon and the name of the center is Storybook Station. The owner is Patty Godwin. I feel compeled to warn parents about this center. I would like to make the facts public, but I don't know how other than to stand in front of the center and tell them about her.

So I just wanted a serious and intelligent answer to what happened to spelling things properly. The words "dat" and "der" and all that crazy stuff drives me crazy. I can't read half of the questions because I can't understand what these people are trying to say. Forget proper grammer, or hell, grammer period, I could probably get passed that. But can someone please tell me why we have given up on the actualy English language and just gone for "write it how it sounds"?? It's highly irritating and makes people look ignorant!! Who is going to hire someone who can't type "that" or "there" because they think "dat" and "der" is better!?!?
