The owner of the childcare is emotionally abusive. She does not allow the children to use the bathroom until she feels like it. The state is involved, but they come in, ask her questions, she lies, they leave and the owner continues to do whatever she wants. This daycare/preschool owner should not be left alone with children. Her staff of five have ALL quit working for her in one month.I live in Salem oregon and the name of the center is Storybook Station. The owner is Patty Godwin. I feel compeled to warn parents about this center. I would like to make the facts public, but I don't know how other than to stand in front of the center and tell them about her.

Keep calling the State, multiple reports will help. Try to discuss your concerns with other parents in the center. A surprise visit might just catch her off gaurd. She can only "fake" it for so long before she gets caught.

If all the staff has left, this should be an important indicator to the parents that something is wrong! I hope you have pulled your child out of the center (unless you are one of the teachers who left). Perhaps it's time to get CPS involved in the case as well. You can report the center's director to Child Protective Services, and they will have to do a separate investigation. Licensing also has an obligation to continue their investigation until something is resolved. Children have the right to be in a safe, caring environment. Continue to be a squeeky wheel until that director is out of there and those kids are safe.

Report this to your local newspaper. Perhaps they can interview other parents and people in the State government and, at least, bring the problem to the attention of other parents.

Call the dept. of children and family services in your state. Contact former clients of the daycare and have them call as well.Multiple complaints might spur more action. Good for you for feeling strongly enough to do something!!!

We have in our local paper an opinion section that we can write whatever is on our minds and they have to publish it and if you dont have this such I would let all the parents know that this stuff is going on and maybe even have parents stay with child all day.
