Nursery Rhymes were never actually written with children in mind .... most were composed for adults.
Just about all nursery rhymes have some sort of historical value to them such as being reference to some special event and i guess in a way can be seen as another way of telling our history but in an oral way as these are passed down through the generations.

Because they are all so OLD....centuries old, and during those times, people weren't "PC", well-adjusted & healthy like we are today. Life was very very difficult, death and disease were a part of everyday life. Most people didn't have the luxury of working only a 40 hour week, they slaved 18 hours a day every day, had barely enough to eat, suffered from countless illnesses and so on. They just told it like it was!

yeah it ought to. in reality maximum have a negative connotation to them. Jack and Jill is rather a lot like a Romeo and Juliette tale (Jack and Jill are in love and then some thing receives contained in the way and then Jack dies and Jill follows purely as Romeo dies and then Juliette follows). Then rock-a-bye infant is about a infant falling from huge heights. Alouette is about a chicken getting that is feathers all plucked off.Humpty Dumpty is about someone committing suicide with the aid of flinging themselves off a wall/ progression. maximum have a really twisted which ability. that one variety of follows that in spite of the undeniable fact that that is extra blunt about it and that is not any longer coated up with the aid of any characters or some thing so it makes it extra actual. desire this helps.

Because they represent a significant Historical event i.e. The Plague, that's where "Bless You " came from. Sneezing was a symptom of the plague so if you sneezed way back when that usually indicated you were dieing and people said "bless you" so you would go to "Heaven"

just like cartoons, and fairy tales they are for good use but there is always evil in 'em. like snow white, stepmother trying to kill her. Beuty and the Beast , crazy bipolar creature beating the crap out of people, and being a woman hater.... but everything turns out right at the end, and that is not true, in life when u ***** up you *** up, damn!
