I just moved to GA from NJ so am not aware of all the the laws yet. I have heard that for children under the age of 3, the ratio is 1:10 and that for ALL children under 3 yrs old the ratio DOES NOT double during nap time. For children 3 and older, it can. Can anyone verify this for me? Is there a statute number or something? Thanks for any help you can provide!

Hi, I'm off to a birthday party for a 1 year old. All I was going to do was go to the Early Learning Centre and pick something random up - but was wondering if anyone had anything particular they could suggest?

These boards need to be in the science area. Web sites you know of would be great although I could not find what I was looking for on the web for free.

This woman was complaining that her son's coat was stolen at his school. He is 2. Hmmm Someone replied, "Who pays $12,000 for a 2 yr old to play with blocks and eat paste?" haha Now I'm curious. Would you pay that kind of money for your 2 yr old to attend 'SCHOOL'? If so, why?

My class consist of older 3's to older 4's. Our theme next week is 'Opposites'. Since we are in fall I would like some ideas for art and/or sensory activities that would involve fall/halloween while still incorporating the theme into the activity. Any ideas? I would also welcome other center based activities to use with the theme. thanks in advance! :)

I teach a class of 2 year olds at a preschool. I was wondering if anyone knew of any simple activities or crafts we could do on each of their birthday's? I want to keep it simple though.

this has happenned since the recent split of his parants, yes an obvious connection, and he was completely dry beforehand
he stays with his Daddy and us for a lot of the time, and although he does miss his Mum he seems happy , is eating and sleeping better. when he is with his Mum he still holds onto his urine. This may become a problem at nursery as he is not going to the loo at all.
We are dealing with this by not referencing to it except to gently remind him where his potty is, or ignoring it. we are hoping it will phase out as time goes by, but maybe there are folk out there who have experienced this?

My four-year-old is in preschool, which he loves. He learns all kinds of stuff, and he loves it. He's making friends, and in general, all is going great.

But for two hours now we've been telling him to do his homework, he's not watching tv til he does his homework, he's not playing a game until he does his homework, he'll get time out if he won't do his homework.... and still....

THE KID WILL NOT DO THE DANG HOMEWORK!!!!!!

And, by the way, the homework we're talking about is that he has to write his name and "AAA AAA", "GGG GGG", "LLL LLL", "DDD DDD" and "LAD LAD" "LOG LOG" and "GAL GAL" three times each.

He can do it. It's not above his level or anything. He just won't stop not doing it. We've taken anything away from around him that could be fun, turned off the tv, and right now he's over there singing a song about underwear.

I can't do this for another 14 years (for him) and 16 years (for my other son).

Any helpful tips??? PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!
