I need to do an original oratory speech (7-10 minutes long, memorized). My teacher said we need to pick a topic that hasn't been covered too much like abortion, captial punishment, etc. I decided to do a speech about intolerance and hate since I do.
How can I make it persuasive? Or state my topic in a way to make it persuasive. She said it can be informative, though most oratory speeches are persuasive. Which one do you think is best for my topic?
Can you give me many good sources (No Wikipedia) to help me with facts, stories, expert solutions, etc. to help back up my speech? I was thinking maybe the case with Matthew Shepard is a case of this and the Westboro Baptist Church.
Any advices, tips, etc. to give to a novice like me?
As of now, I need to create a basic outline.
I. Introduction
II. Problems
III. Why problem exist
IV. Solutions
V. Conclusion
Or an outline along that.
Thank you for taking the time to answer this.
