I am an Adult educator.
If essays and grammar are your biggest challenge here is an idea. It works for my learners it may work for you!
Your problem is, is that you need feedback and correction at least once week. English is the most illogical language out there. So especially in the written word its good to see your mistakes and sometimes remember them through association.
Ask and educator to give you a theme once a week, eg: The Beach, the fire, my most favourite holiday, the accident, my most favourite carreer ect or something that relates to the assignments that you are working on in History. Ask the Educator to give you 35-50 vocab words. Then the rest is up to you.
When the Educator marks your work, sit with them, so that you can ask questions and take notes. Ask them to mark especially the grammar and sentence construction, past present and continuous tense ect.
Once you know your week areas you will then be able to practise using other topics as launching pads.
I hope this practicle advice will help you.
Good Luck

Planey of sites, to help in writing, but the best thing that worked for me, was reading all the literature which would make me use to the language. Reading Newspaper is one of best ways to become good in English. History you have to have interest in.

Try finding sites on the part of history you are learning and you will find many exciting facts. Better than just dry reading, imagin yourself in that time, and try not to fall asleep.

Well stop using this monitor because it won't help you out. Computer is not good for serious learners. I've passed my GCSE's last year not because I had lots of resources and books etc. but because I have motivation and that's all you needed hun.
