My nephew got a c in math on his report card because of low marks on his fcat last year, he is making A's and B's on his math test this year but when he got his report card for this grading peroid he had a C on it can someone tell me how that can be we live in FL if that help's to answer this.

when he got his report card for the first gradeing period he had a c in math but he was getting a's and b's on his test the teacher said the reason he got a c on his report card is because he got a c on his fcat at the end of last school year what does that have to do with his grade this year when he is makeing a's and b's this year?

This is part of the whole No Child Left Behind mess...

I'm sorry that this happened to your nephew, but he got a grade for how he did on one day on a test. It doesn't matter that he might have had a bad day or was not a morning math person, but that snapshot was taken on that one day and that is how he was graded for all the work he did for the whole year.

Teachers and schools are graded under the same snapshot rules.
