Education is compulsory in Britain until the last Friday in June in the school year that your sixteenth birthday falls in.
If you are home educated, you don't need to be at school, but you can't leave education at fifteen.
By 2013, it will probably be raised to 18.

depends on where in the school year your birthday is, if youre classed as a christmas leaver then you can leave school at 15, the summer before if you go to college.

Yes. If the school term ends on say 20th July, and the new term starts on 3rd Sep. And my 16th birthday is on 31st Aug. I have legally left school at age 15, on the 20th July!
