When I go home from school, I have a habit that I will play and watch TV first until I have nothing to watch then I get to study. How can I stop this?

stay in a room with NOTHING to distract you!

remember to tell yourself when you reach your house start doing your studies. you need to be organize, make a chart that shows when your play time is and when study time is(study time FIRST!!!)

you know what, i also have the same habit... my mom always tell me to finish my studies first, she always bugs me and stuff but i found a way. i try to tell myself that my brothers are trying to compete with me, so i quickly do my homework and when im done, i go to there room and shouted, im done! yeah.. you cant beat me!!!!.....why dont you try that to your siblings, its fun:) then they will tell me, show off! but i will say joke=p

one more thing....i want to check my yahoo answer and y!messenger and stuff but my mom is using the computer, when i say: mom, its my turn right? then she will say, if you finish your homework, its all yours! if your brothers will touch it, i will scold them!!! so i laughed and quickly do my work:D

then if your bored, you can turn on the music while working(it works on me!) i found it relaxing and i found it easier to do my work...

if you want something for christmas, tell it to your parents, then make a deal with them.... for example, you really want that ipod nano so tell your parents, if i get a high score this quarter, can you give me a ipod nano, i will be really good?

well, that's all i got! but hopingly you choose me as the best answer!!!

You can start by setting small goals. For example, tell yourself you will study for an hour first then watch 30 minutes of TV or play as a break. Then study another hour followed by another break. Once you are able to do it, extend the study time little by little until you can study first and reward yourself with TV or play time at the end...

Good luck!

Do your study where there isn't a television. Also try going to your study area without going through past the telly, if possible.
Does your school has study-rooms or a library open after school finishes? Perhaps you could try getting your homework out of the way before you go home.

Turn off the TV and exercise self-discipline. Find a better hobby to occupy your TV-watching time if you're not willing to start studying right away. Ride a bike, play sports, read a book, etc.

To be honest, you will possibly be able to desire to get faraway from the distracting area and not placed your self in that subject the place you would be temped to circulate on the workstation and what not. circulate to a Library as an occasion. If not, use the rubber band technique. whenever you come across your self not focusing snap the rubber band. It sounds like it would not artwork whether it does. while your innovations starts off to waft away you have a tendency to snap the rubber band, and you will ultimately notice which you're doing it.
