of a school that he has to go to because we live on the wrong side of the road for him to go to the better one that is 2 miles away from our house. instead he has to go to one that caters to the rich and says screw the poor (20 miles for the house ) I have went to the school board and they told me if I didn't like it I could pay $3000 a semester and put him in any school I wanted. If i could aford that I would put him in a good private school and not worry about if he is learning the skills he needs to to get a good job when he gets out of school. thanks for any help you can give.

I have a 7th grader who we ar starting to homeschool, atleast for the rst of the curent year.
Where can we go online to get a curriculum fo the remainder of this school year only and not have to pay full year tuition prices?
Any suggestions would be helpful, homeschooling getting started for dummies is what I need, lol
k12.com is not in louisiana, i already checked it out.
Thanks in advance.

My DD has just turned three this month. She is bright (doing K and 1st grade work) and we have decided to start her formal HSing. However, only being three she can not write. We are working on it, but it will be quite some time before she can. Is it cheating or wrong for me to write the answers she gives me.

This is the first time I've really felt like just not doing school because I'm sick. I'm afraid I'll be really impatient, and all I really want to do is go to bed. So, should I give my kids the day off or should we somehow get through this?

We've been homeschooling for two years, I hardly ever give the kids a day off unless it's a holiday. I just don't feel good.

And how old are your kids? Do you stick to the "age appropriate" designations, or go with what you know your own kids can do?

So many statistics are showing up about how much smarter home schooled kids turn out to be. If you could figure out how to do it, would you home-school your kids? Maybe with enough club and social activity to make up for being in school with other kids?

Do you think home schooling is right if it's not working for the child and the child wants to go to school?

What is the impact of the movie to me as a viewer? Do I see a change in me as a result of my viewing? What new windows opened for me after undergoing this project? Or no change in me at all but..... Do I agree with the points of view of the director, with his/her depictions? Values? Beliefs? Etc.

I want to home school my children, but all the home schooled kids I have ever met were either a) completely nerdy , b) out of touch with reality or c) nerdy when in home school then got out in the real world and became very rebellious (sex, drugs, etc)

I don't want that to happen with my kids, but I still hate the idea of the normal school system. Have I just had bad encounters with home schooled children, or is this the tendency of most?

In particular, I am looking for a preschool or kindergarten curriculum with religious emphasis. Suggestions or links are appreciated - the ones I've heard the most about so far are Before Five In A Row / Five In A Row and Weaver / Weaver Interlock. Comparison website links would be most helpful!

If I homeschool my son, is it possible (or legal) to take in other kids to homeschool as well? I really like teaching kids and am looking forward to teaching my son but I have talked with a few other parents and they are interested in having me teach their kids as well. If you personally homeschool your child--would you consider having someone else do it?

Just doing some research. Do you send the coursework once you've done it with your Teacher, back to the Exam Centre that you have chosen? With a form like this: http://www.edexcel.org.uk/VirtualContent/80130/CAS.pdf

Or does someone outside, such as a Private Tutor have to authenticate the coursework, and if so, how?

My sister is homeschooling my nieces whom are 9 and 10. The nine year old STILL does not know how to read, I saw my nieces resently and they have revealed to me that they had not worked on homeschool for 2 years. How do I report this to the state of Michigan so that my sister has to enroll the kids in school?

"it's principal’s decision as to whether they will take you because you are over age. They might do it since it is home based. Anyway, you need to go to the Fairborn Board of Education on Whittier . Ask about enrolling in TRECA and see what they can do for you. Good luck!!"

I'm trying to get it next month until May and I can finish it between then, do you think they will accept me?

Should I go Tuesday Morning?
