My feedback from ex-pupils at the secondary school where I tought, combined with the experiences of my own graduate offspring, lead me to believe that the university experience is now a pale shadow of that which I enjoyed 3 decades ago. Anyone else of my age with a view on this?

I am currently a devoted writer of fictional stories and movie scripts, but I want to continue that in college. What courses are good to take? I do not wish to gain a career from it, but just to further my skills. Any advice? Thanks.

This urge pushed me to return to the University of Minnesota to complete a Spanish specialization and to enroll in a six month intensive language program at a private language school in Guatemala.

Do I need a comma after the word "specialization"?

I am number 1 of my high school's junior class. I am in the Beta Club and plan to hold a leadership position. I am the first chair trumpet of my high school band and am the section leader. I have also been in the All-State Honors Band. I have an unweighted GPA of 4.0 and a weighted of 4.5. I am enrolled in one AP class right now and am taking 3 next year. I made a 710 on my math score in 10th grade and took the SAT last Saturday. I am involved in my church's youth group where we do a lot of community service. What do you think my chances are of getting into Stanford and/or an Ivy League school?

I'm a 1st year psychology major at York University and I hate it. Recently, I've been thinking of changing my major to something Business-related.. perhaps finance or management. The problem is.. I've never taken any class in either field.. so I don't know what they're like.

Anyhoo, I'm going to be working 1, perhaps 2 (if I get it), jobs this summer to make some extra money. I was thinking of taking an Intro to Administrative studies (Business) course online and a Micro-economics course in-class (because they don't offer an micro-econ courses online). Is this a wise decision? Are they hard courses that are difficult to "grasp" online.. or at all? In the case of the econ class that meets twice a week, will I be too busy to actually do well in the class?

The intro to administrative studies (business) is a full summer course.. while the micro-econ class meets twice a week and only runs may-june.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

I had an assignment due for a class, but turned it in late because I was sick and unable to finish it on time. I do not have insurance and I wasn't sick enough to go to the doctor, so I don't have a written excuse. When I emailed my late assignment to my prof a few days late I explained the situation and she replied that she will talk to me about it after class today. What can I do to convince her that I really was sick and shouldn't get a ton of points taken off for being late? The assignment is 20% of my grade.

I'm looking into colleges and absolutely adore CU, but I am not sure how my future employers will react to me when I say I graduated from CU (because of the party rep and all). I'm also thinking of their honors program if that helps.
I know they will consider other attributes, but I'm just wondering...
Any advice? Would you hire?

8 wk course done online. I am wondering how hard this course is if not taught in person. Is it easy to understand without the instructor? I know it all comes down to the individual. But overall is it an easy online class to take? Thanks
