I'm looking into colleges and absolutely adore CU, but I am not sure how my future employers will react to me when I say I graduated from CU (because of the party rep and all). I'm also thinking of their honors program if that helps.
I know they will consider other attributes, but I'm just wondering...
Any advice? Would you hire?

Employers do not care about what school you went to. They care more that you have a degree and if you have an honors program on your resume, all the better.
Enjoy your next 4 to 5 years, have a great time, gather up great stories for your friends, and I'm sure you'll have no problem finding a job.

Reputable employers could care less about a school's party reputation - they care more about your overall ability to work in an environment and all those other attributes, which I'm sure you're aware of. I've got a degree from CU and it hasn't even been an issue. Consider all of the Nobel Prize-winning scientists and engineers who have emerged from Boulder.

My dad has hired 2 people (the only ones that have applied) from CU. Yea, they will look at the school and see that is a party school and stuff but... if you are in the honors program (like you mentioned) and if you get good grades and know how to present yourself then.. you shouldn't have a problem getting a job. People should hire you on a basis of how you did in school... not based on the school. Well, if it was like Harvard or Yale or a school that has a really strong program in something then... they will look at that but otherwise they shouldn't base you on the school you went to. Good Luck!!

The school itself has been through frequent bouts of bad press lately. If you really like it though you should go there because you will probably not get a chance to redo your college years again. Alternatives here in Co - CU Denver, Denver University and Colorado State

This isn't an answer, but I am in a similar situation to you. For me it is CU or Mines- mines being cheaper and offering a PE degree. However, I would like to go to CU- being that I am quite social and extroverted (also being a male the 4 to 1 thing at mines freaks me out).

If possible, what other schools are you looking at, and where in CO are you from (myself Collins)?

Its a well known, highly acredited school. An employer wont care about its reputation, just how well you did.

Wanted to go there but got into CSU
