Actually I have two questions:

I've heard that if u take a total of 4 AP courses over your 4 high school years, then you are usually given sophmore standing when you enter college. What if you take 12 or maybe 13 AP courses over the 4 years? Will I then be admitted to Senior standing when I enter college?

My second is: what's the point of trying to go for National AP scholar (8 AP courses with 4 or better on tests), if you can't put in on your college resume seeing as most people apply at the beginning of senior year? That means that I would have to take a total of 8 AP's in sophmore/junior years, which is essentially impossible unless you do not need sleep. I'm taking 2 right now during sophmore year, with 4 other honors classes, and 6 out of 7 classes in which you have to work is hell.

Would it give me a better chance of being admitted into their medical school, compared to if I attended a school like University of Maryland College Park or University of Maryland Baltimore County? This is assuming that I do extremely well in my undergrad years, no matter what school I attend [4.0 gpa, lots of community service, research experience, rigorous pre-med courses, excellent MCAT score]

Please help me out.

I'm supposed to keep a journal on our reading assignments. Should I write the journal as I read, or read and then write the journal?

...or just get off of Answers and do the darned thing? (haha)

University Core Curriculum (UCC) requirements states that you need a "C" or higher, would that mean that if you were to get a C- you are screwed and need to take that particular class all over again?

I'm an 18 year old student on a Graphic Design/Multimedia course in the UK.

Here's the situation:

I haven't learnt anything:
We're not being specifically taught anything like design theory, and neither have I learnt anything by working on the assignments

We've only been taught very basic software techniques (this consisted of us 'learning' to make selections in Photoshop 7).

[The only part of the course where I am learning something is Art History, which I am actually enjoying]

I could be learning much more outside of college, teaching myself.
(...and did so last term, but not to the extent I would have liked to)

Much of the work we are being set won't be of any use in our portfolios.
(most of the assignments we are being set seem to be essays)

I'm contemplating leaving the course to pursue full-time freelance/self-study.

I've got many contacts in studios/agencies, with offers of work experience. I'm planning on teaching myself/building up portfolio more before I pursue these.
