Depends on the program. Just visit beforehand and see for yourself.

In many grad schools, during midterms and finals, you'll see people who clearly just rolled out of bed (I'm talking pajamas, slippers, and carrying a pillow and/or blanket).

The generic uniform for guys is slacks and a button down shirt. Khakis and even jeans can be fine, depending on what kind of image you want to present. Remember, for places like law school and business school, the networking is as important as the actual learning so your looks can be pretty important.

depends on the image you want, and the field you are into.

there is no dress code for graduate school, or atleast were i go. sometimes i wear my slacks and button down shirts there and other days i wear wind pants and a runner's jacket. no one really cares on a social aspect. as long as you look presentable.

it is rare that you will see someone who is dressed in preppy, emo, or goth in graduate school. if you are emo or goth i would def. find a girl to help you pick out a new wardrobe.

in undergrate you would see girls wearing pajamas to class and carrying pillows..you would see guys wearing wife beaters and sweat pants..you will mostly likey not see this because they have grown up and finally became adults.

people tend to care more about there looks, since they are tying to make it in the "real" world.

The dress code is relaxed. Just don't come like you just rolled out of bed. Plus, it is nothing like undergrad. It is an opportunity to meet people from diverse backgrounds and an opportunity for you to network with people.
