Oh my...no nurses answered so far. :-)

It doesn't matter which you attend the PA program at. As long as it is an accredited program, it can award the Master's Degree that you need in order to sit for the licensure exams.

Check with your state medical board for accredited programs in your state.

Actually neither is. IF you want to get through schooling as fast as possible with a degree that is applicatable to that career and get on the job training and then placement as you near graduation. Try going to a Vocation School. WHY? Becuase you don't waist time taking the basic's, you get into taking classes that will lead to your degree. Also, because employees in the different areas of training that Area Vocation Schools offer, get to have a say in what the students are taught. Thus you are prepared better for what a doctor looking for a physician's assitance would actually want.

Go talk to someone over at your areas local area vocational school and see if they offer that degree. If they don't then go to a place like Steven Henigers, both are quicker then college or a university. Quicker and they do more to help place students in good jobs whent hey near graduation then do colleges or universities.

In a university, you may have more contact with the hospital which is run as part of the medical school, while in a college, you may have more practical, hands-on training with some off-campus hospital or with very job-oriented kinds of internships. The smaller the institution, the more it should be specializing in what you want to learn.

And always, you must check out their reputation with those who would know: namely, those who use physician assistants. The people you expect to become your employers when you graduate the program.

A university is a collection of colleges each teaching a different discipline. It doesn't matter which you attend, as long as it is the best one for you.
