I am assuming this is a long term assignment, due maybe at the end of term when all the reading is done? If so, keep it up to date. Write something everyday if possible, after doing a set amount of reading that makes sense in terms of the total amount you have to do. Write after you finish reading each assignment. If at all possible, do the writing immediately after completing the reading, while it is fresh in your mind, and add a little to it the next day when you have had time to think about it. With this sort of assignment the worst thing that can happen is if you let yourself get behind and have to do a lot of reading and writing in a short time. That will usually be obvious to the teacher. Best of luck with it.

Write the journal as you read, you could write at the end of each chapter as well as those moments that you may find to be thought provoking/inspiring. If you really want to know for sure, ask the prof, they're usually happy to help and it looks good for you to show interest.

You should write in the journal WHILE reading to get the best notes. If you write in your journal after you read then chances are that you have forgotten many inportant events!

Do the journal as you read ... then sit back in peace while everyone else is stressed out doing their bit after they have read it all. You'll remember things easier if you do it as you go along ... then again you could ask Answers for input too . Kill two birds with the same stone.

I have to do this as well....I've chosen to read the material, take page notes in my notebook about what I want to write the journal about and I figured I'd write it later.

Keep notes as you read and then write out your entry when you are done. And yes, go get to work.
