I took my first practice test and got an 800 verbal and a 280!!! math. I've scheduled the test for a month from now. My schedule is pretty clear between now and then. Do you think it is possible to get that 280 to at least a 500 if I spend this month learning forgotten math?

I attended baylor university for 2 1/2 years, and achieved a relatively low GPA, 2.7 (calculus hurt me)

Now that i'm transferring to Oklahoma state's business undergrad, and the GPA starts fresh, if I were to end up wtih a 3.6 GPA, factoring in my subpar beginning at Baylor, would I even have a shot at Chicago's graduate school? Or should I focus on reality and aim for something a little lower?

Just trying to get a plan going.
Thanks.

I have been in college for 6, almost 7 years now. It's taken me so long because each semester I haven't taken a full load, and next December when I graduate I'll be the first of my parents kids to graduate college, and I'm the middle child. I hate that look of dissapointment on my parents' faces, always have. How do I tell them I don't want to finish school, but go into the Air Force instead. I know they are going to be dissapointed that I didn't graduate college after so long, but I'm sick of school. Although I would like to have my degree to make the last few years to have been more than just a waste of time and money. There is no right way to tell them I want to drop out, but I'm unhappy in school, and even more unhappy out. Because I'll know I have dissapointed my parents, yet again.

I am getting confused between MCA and Mba-IT. i wanna go in for programming and right now doing BCA (final year). While on one hand, MBA wud open another stream for me n wud save a complete year..but on the other side, MCA wud serve me wid my requirement of being a computer professional. I dont have ne issues wid putting 3 years for doing mca and no interest for getting into management.
So plz guys..suggest...wud MCA b helpful to me or not..or will mba-it serve the same purpose as by mca??

In roman numerals "IV" = 4, and the "Ivy League" stands for the the 9 institutions with origins dating from the colonial era. The 8 "ivy" league schools currently are:

1. Brown University
2. Columbia University
3. Cornell University
4. Dartmouth College
5. Harvard University
6. Princeton University
7. University of Pennsylvania
8. Yale University
9. ?

If the current schools are not the origianl 9 from the "colonial era", what where they?

I'm a freshman at a small private school in Chicago. It was my last choice, but I tried very hard to approach it with enthusiasm. However, I have no friends here. At all. I don't even eat dinner because I don't want to eat alone. I hate my classes. None of my professors even know my name, and they don't explain anything and the tests are insanely difficult. I can't motivate myself to study because I hate this place soooooooooo much. I cry all the time. I go home every weekend and work, under the guise of needing money, but really, I just can't stay here and sit in my dorm room all weekend alone. This place is so expensive and I can't afford it at all. Why am I staying? Because at this school I can be a Psych major, bio minor, bioethics minor, and study abroad. But I haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaate it.

What can I do to make it better? Should I live at home next year? Should I transfer? I don't know what to do and I'm seriously miserable.

I'm currently a prepharmacy student and I've been taking course at the city colleges and I really hate it there because the chemistry teachers are horrible. I wanted to transfer to UIC early but It costs so much money, even with financial aid. Does anybody recommend a chicago college that has good professors and won't break me financially?

Q: Tell us about a talent, experience, contribution, or personal quality you will bring to the University of California.

On one of my childhood trips to Vietnam, my parents took me to visit a small, isolated country village. I remember that one day, my mother had told me about the children there who could not go to school and how lucky I was to have the opportunity of getting an education available to me. Her words meant little to me as a child whose only concern was when her favorite cartoon was going to show, but as a young adult, my fortune means much more. Realizing this, I knew that I had to share my blessings with others.
Over the years, I have engaged in many community service activities. I have done everything from teaching to watching over children. However, the endeavor most important to me has been helping H.O.P.E (Helping Our People Emerge) raise money to establish schools in rural areas of Vietnam. My eagerness to help others has always been my strongest personal quality. I enjoy being a part of the world's changing toward the better, and I know that if admitted to your univerity, I would dramatically shape the mold of the campus with a friendly helping hand.

I am about 5 classes away from getting a degree that I know I will not use because I am pursuing a different career now. Do I bite the price bullet and pay for the 5 classes and get the degree anyways or should I just save the money and forget about it?

THis is the finale of a 10 page paper, constructive criticism or additions please.
Mahan and Roosevelt’s greatest legacy lay in their success at providing the American nation with a fleet capable of enforcing the tenets of the Monroe Doctrine. These two men built a navy which could actually enforce the interests of America in the Western Hemisphere, effectively turning a theory on paper into a reality. Despite the shortcomings of these two men, and their differences, they accomplished a feat which is arguably attributable for America’s current world.
