I suggest first you need to retrospect as to why you want to do an MBA...is it because everyone else around you is doing it? or is because you feel that it would be of some value add to you? After you decide that, try and answer what kind of a specialisation you are looking at. There are a variety of them - Marketing, Finance, HR, Operations, Systems etc. This is very important as only then you can direct your applications to the institutes accordingly. Based on the kind of field you want to get into, you apply. The most common exam for MBA is the Common Aptitude Test (CAT). This exam is conducted every year by the Indian Institutes of Management(IIMs). Many other B-schools are also affiliated to this exam. (These names would be available in the prospectus). Keep a look-out for the ads in the leading newspapers or talk to any of the coaching institutes (IMS, CL, TIME, PT etc.) for the dates of the CAT exam. Usually, this is held in November. Get the prospectus, fill the application form and courier it to the respective IIM. They will send you your admit card for the exam sometime in October. The results are usually out in Dec/Jan. IIM-Ahemedabad, Bangalore, Kolkata, and Lucknow are supposed to be the best MBA institutes in India. Indore and Kozikhode are also considered premier institutes. Other than CAT, there are other entrance exams for other MBA institutes like IIFT, SNAP (Symbiosis), XLRI Jamshedpur etc which are well known as well. All these institutes are usually known for some specific specialisation or the other (like XLRI is known for its MBA program in HR). So, depending upon which field you want, you apply accordingly. You can take the help of coaching institutes to figure out which instituete suits you the most according to the specialisation you have chosen.

The main problem with people these days is that they want to copy others. You choose a path which somebody else has chosen and he has succeeded..I hope you are not that type.If you are then you probably will have to think over it.Getting an MBA degree might be challenging but think about the kind of job that you will have to do after that. Will it make you happy.

Having said that,if you still think you are going to do an MBA here are your options
1.You can clear GMAT and do an MBA abroad that is the best option if you can afford it.
2.Otherwise you will have to clear CAT or XAT.

I don know much about GMAT,but for CAT you will have to read read and read a lot of books of varying contents.CAT tests how good are you in taking decisions and handling the pressure not how good you are in maths or english.

So go after it wholeheartedly and you are sure to succeed.

Good Luck!!
