Dont be intimidated, apply to better schools that you think you would like to be at. Think about where you want to be in a year...in three years.

You can put off student loans as long as you need to. My best advice is to go to a better school and call the office of financial aid for that school, they will help you and make things a lot easier so you will have more power over making the decisions.

Community college sucks, I wouldn't recommend staying there, start applying to better schools immediately and drop out of any classes you think you might fail because those classes will stay on your record and that won't help you if you're trying to go anywhere good.

First research what you really want to do with ur life. They do say that college is not for everyone but I think if you know what you really like to do then studying it will be a breeze.

My brother is 16 and he has the same thing as you and he's failing miserable but if you had a 3.8 then you should have no problem getting into a university. File for fafsa. If your parents contribution is 0 then you will definately get approved. There are also scholarships that colleges offer when you get accepted.
Hope this helps. Good luck.

Are you still LIVING with your parents? Perhaps that's what's feeling more like a hellhole than the community college itself. Get out of the house.

First, as has already been mentioned, fill out applications. You can still get accepted at a four-year school even after failing a community college course if you write about how you plan to go about improving academically and why these plans will help you succeed. If you're a first-generation student, _emphasize_ it. First-generation students are pretty much totally detached from parental support psychologically (parents don't know what you're going through) and financially (parents have no education and thus no money). Get friendly with financial aid and other advisors at your potential college(s). E-mail them. Meet with them. Take all possible loans; don't be afraid of them. You can't take money with you after you die. Apply for grants and scholarships. See if your school has academic support departments to work with you (e.g., if you're a minority student).

If you need to move far away and take a semester off to work, do it. Try to con a warehouse or factory into hiring you full-time and then quit when you've been accepted to a better school. Tend bar. Wait tables at Friday's. Just do _not_ rack up any more debt (like buying a new car, the stupidest thing you could possibly do) if you do take time off. Read. Read read read, everything you like. Read books and articles in your potential area of study. Join a community organization or support group so you can meet and chat with people about interests or anything three or four times a month.

I could have never functioned in college while dealing with family bulls.hit and sleeping in my mom and dad's house every night. Ugh. You can also tell your parents for me it's pretty crappy of them not to help you out. I disdain people who "bless" their children with life and then drop all attempts to help make that life worthwhile. And it's true that community colleges are essentially full of immature brat high school seniors. But so are smaller four-year colleges.

This is a key time in your life. If you find it hard at a community college it won't be any easier in a four year school.

If you want your parents help get off your back side & get going with you studies. If you can't hack in college You are going to have one heck of a hard time out in the real world.

Spending money to go to a different school at this time would be just throwing the money away.

You still have it in you to do well. Just dig down a little & find it.

all i can do is speak in sweeping generalizations. you are probably better in a community college getting stuff out of the way unless you can afford a private school. if you go to public universities they will stick you in classes of 1000 people which will kill your chances of doing anything there with the adhd and stuff. here is a tip in affording a private school -- most offer free tuition to their full time employees. so if you get some crappy security guard job or something you get free tuition. good luck!

You know I paid my way through school. I was a registered nurse at 22. I used that degree to work and pay for dental school. I am a dentist. I went to a community college. For the first two years. You aren't owed anything by your parents. I paid for my daughters college and her expenses. She approached me one day about taking five years to finish college...........needless to say she took summer classes.

Well if you can't cope with a 2 year school, how will you cope with a 4 year school? You want your cake and eat it too...and you don't even like school. Do your business or get off the pot...you are just whinning. It will get you nowhere. Buckle down because a change will only change the background scenery...not your problem. Find some maturity.

Sirach.. My son,rob not the poor man of his livlihood;force not the eyes of the needy to turn away.A hungry man grieve not,a needy man anger not;do not exasperate the downtrodden;delay not to give to the needy.Abeggar in distress do not reject;avert not your face from the poor. From the needy turn not your eyes, give no man reason to curse you,for if in the bitterness of his soul he curse you,his Creator will hear his prayer.Endear yourself to the assembly;before a ruler bow your head.Give a hearing to the poor man,and return his greeting with courtesy;deliver the oppessed from the hand of the oppressor;let not justice be repugnant to you.To the fatherless be as a father, and help their mother as a husband would;thus will you be like a son to the Most High, and he will be more tender to you than a mother.
Even an angel in rags might come up to you someday.
