to have graduated in a load of debt, than to have never pursued a degree at all? If you are; broke, not good at working and school (employees dont necessarily care if you are in school), scared of loans, got bills, live with family who doesnt care that you are in school and make every possible noise when you are at home trying to study because you have worked all day and is too tired to drive to the library 20 minutes away it stresses you out, and you can't get passed college algebra for some reason, and everybody that you started with is finished and getting jobs, and telling you things that you never heard of because you never get to spend that much time at school because you have to work, but you keep at it, and everytime you start a new semester something strange always happens that sets you back, .......etc IS IT JUST ME? Am i supposed to be a weed smoking, 40 oz drinking, bad hair weave wearing, food stamp collecting, welfare check cashing, ghetto baby mama, who will cut a *****?

Material objects: cars, houses, expensive jewelry.

Or is it a mere matter of preference and taste? Can a poorer person have a more expensive house than a rather wealthy person because of priority? Can a wealthy person invest their money into charity rather than bills or is it more likely that they have nicer things?

My counselor told me I should apply Early Action to Harvard University. Apparently, based on my socio-economic class as a first generation college student, my chances of admission are “higher” and there is a free-tuition program for people under 60,000 incomes. Although, I look at my 21 composite ACT and say she’s nuts, respectively.

I know I have a recommendation from my school district’s Superintendent regarding my service, as a voluntary intern at special needs school within the district, a recommendation from the special needs students’ teacher, and a recommendation from the supervisor of my federally funded TRiO Work-Study law internship. Not sure what that will do in college admissions.

Anyone think my high school counselor is right? I guess I always thought Harvard and such were exclusive to people who pay top bucks--not to offend anyone.

I have a small business and I specialize in research & writing. My mother suggests that I could offer the service of researching for term papers, thesis or dissertations. I thought it the purpose of those documents to go through the research exercise. I usually don't question my mother, but ....???

I have been taking online classes from Penn Foster college (private investigator career diploma) and I was wondering if i'm just wasting time and money. The website says its accredited in so many ways but I still don't know what to believe. I plan on going to college to get a bachelors degree in criminal justice too, but that I would also prefer to take mostly online due to my schedule and problems with transportation. I live in michigan and I was wondering if there were any good colleges that have online degrees in criminal justice that employers would actually accept.

I am coming out of high school with somewhat high grades, good extra-cirruc, and solid letters of recommendation. What school is good for a dentistry/pre-dentistry major? I applied to Pittsburgh (which I hear is very good), but I'd like some other options.

Ok you’re at a really large school, and there are 1,000 closed lockers in a straight hallway. Devin decides that he’s going to opens every other locker. Bryce decides that he is going to change the state (if its open close it, if it’s closed open it) of every third locker. Ethan decides that he’s going to change the state of every fourth locker. This continues on until the 1,000th locker. Which locker will be open? How many will be closed? Which locker will be open by the end? Thank you so much!

I really want to apply to a college in CT, but don't want my parents to pay too much for me to go there. (I'm out-of-state). So I do want to go there, but I also don't want to go a poor school with bad education for the "real world" or whatever. Thanks if anyone know anything on this.

Well, I applied to law school so far four times... the first time, one law school did accept me but I started feeling overwhelmed by the commitment so I declined the offer. I was turned down by all law schools, since then, the last three years I applied.

Part of me can visualize myself as a good attorney, but the other part wonders if I'll be swift enough to win cases. I'm not too strong, analytically speaking, and I know that's it's key to be sharp, in that arena, especially when researching statutes and such.

I'm in my 30s now and have worked many years as a paralegal. Now, I'm temping as one. Although I'm single w/ no kids, I'm worried about my future, financially speaking, when I do one day find the right woman, get married and have kids. With my earnings now, there's no way I would be able to provide a better future than I had growing up.

Should I give law school one more try or forget about it and investigate other careers?
