As difficult as in can be. . .study every day. Distributed practice is a far better study tactic than massed practice (i.e., "cramming" for a test). Re-write your lecture notes after a class. Generate examples for each term, when possible. Practice writing definitions, formula, and writing examples instead of just saying them in your head or studying off flash cards.

Finally, ask each of your professors what study techniques will help you succeed in his/her class.

Set aside study time daily. Even if for an hour or so. Set a clock so you don't spend time worrying about how much time is left. Don't study at work or on the bus, you spend too much energy on your environment. Select a place where you won't be disturbed. I don't like to study with someone else becuase you go slower. You can move at your own speed when you study alone.

This is going to sound stupid, but it is true. Of all the students I have tutored, including myself, I have found that they falter when they fail to do homework as assigned. I imagine that is not your case. Keep up with your homework. Practice makes permanent. Perfect practice makes perfect. If you practice an error, then you will perform an error.
Some of the other suggestions are good as well. Eat your breakfast. Don't do homework or take tests when hungry or otherwise distracted unnecessarily.

Read, review and recite. Also, record on a voice device and listen with headphones over and over again, play as you are relaxing too. This helped me, I'm 51 and on the Deans list. Good Luck!!
