I am trying to find foods that will improve retention while studying. and at the same time foods that should be avoided. The same for exams, Is it true that eating before an exam can be detrimental to your score? Nutritional Study Tips will be greatly appreiciated. THANKS

I'd say stay away from poultry, esp. turkey (because of the tryptophan that makes you sleepy.) Also, eating too much can make you sluggish, so keep your meals light. I wouldn't go without eating before an exam, though....being hungry can affect your performance, too. Once again, just keep it light.

I have heard that fish is brain food. Don't eat a heavy meal before testing, but do eat something.

I hear drinking orange juice replenishes the brain. Also, chewing gum while taking a test is suppose to calm nerves.
