I want to go to West Point but i don't really know what classes and extracurricular activities i should take that would help me get into West Point. So im asking anyone who attended or at least tried to get into West Point for some answer to my question.

To get their attention, you need to start with good grades in English, history, math, science, and possibly an art. You need to score well on ACT's or SAT's. When you are old enough, you need to score well on the ASVAB test. You will also need to be physically fit just to get in.
West Point is about leadership as well as military service in general. Get involved in clubs and student council. Talk with your guidance counselor. You can also contact a recruiter who can point you in the right direction. Do on line searches.
After I scored well on the ASVAB when I was 17, West Point came to me and another fellow at school. You also need a sponsor. A congressman would be a good sponsor. I forget the others. If your father or mother successfully went to West Point, that is a big plus. Personally, I didn't make it. Standards may be different now. The procedure is probably the same.

ROTC will help very much, but you need to be active in at least one extracurricular activity. Of course pick the one that you are the best at, but West Point really likes its football team.

I belonged to only one small club. I was in ROTC for 4 years and I tried to apply for a scholarship. I was turned down because I didn't have enough outside activates. So in my experience that is key.

Of course you need good grades as well, but the MOST IMPORTANT thing you need is approval from your Senator or Congressman. I suggest that you write your state Senator and ask them for advice. You will show your interest, and will learn what THEY are looking for in a West Point candidate. Without an approval from a congressman then you will never even be put up for consideration, much less get into the academy (this is true for all the academies). You can try to contact your Representative, but remember they only serve a two-year term and there are going to be some political changes this year and two years from now when the Presidential Election is held. I also suggest that you look into the Senator's positions and voting record. You can find his voting record on line and if your parents or you contact them, then they will probably get a newsletter on his views and positions. It would help your cause if you expressed a similar position. If your congressman is very opposed to the war then you might want to pick on someone else.

Join ROTC if you can, get good grades, specialize in the sciences (those are the fields the army prefers), and get involved in at least two outside activates. By involved I don't mean attending meetings, I mean by doing something with the group. FI possible get an officer position. Be active in any fundraisers and don't pick a small group that doesn't do very much. The key statement is that West Point is looking for "Well Rounded Cadets."

probably more science oriented classes, although be sure to have a good basis in everything. and whatever you do decide to take, do really well. west point is great if you're sure that's what you want to do, but it's tricky to get into.
their academic requirements are:
4 years of english
4 years of math
2 years science
2 years foreign language
1 year history (personally i would reccomend more than this if you want to be in the army).

as for extra-curriculars, do something that shows leadership and intelligence; choose student government over the anime club.

you still have a while, and you should be absolutely sure that it's what you want to do, but if you stay open minded to everything around you and just absorb the world and all the knowledge you can, you'll be fine.
good luck.

It's called "politicing". West Point is a difficult school to be admitted to and it is in your favor to have top knotch recommendations. If you're confused about where to find these connections, call on your representatives. If you volunteered in a campaign, you'd be set for a glowing reccomendation. I think also that taking Junior ROTC will look very nice on your application. Do as much as you can, they like to see motivation and ambition. Good Luck!

If the school have an ROTC may try that. Math maybe good. My Niece was in ROTC and when she graduate she joined the Army. They started her as an E-2.Think that it, I know it was more than a regular person would start and it pay more. But, it was because of her ROTC training. All I know, sorry.

As said before, ROTC, but, make your primary focus Science and Mathematics. Also, cultivate a strict exercise discipline and make it a habit to stay away from late nights, so that you can help fine tune your mind and body. Take as many AP classes and you are able. God bless and..... GO NAVY! Beat Army!

Not sure if it was paranormal activity or I'm just crazy... But I'd say yes, I have. I've heard weird noises, I've seen black hands coming out of my bed, pens randomly falling off the table for no reason, etc.

Sorry, but I've already had to go through all this admissions junk once, and I'm not really feeling up to finding all the specifics for you right now.

I did however find a place for YOU to find it out yourself.
Try going here, and it'll help you out a bit.

Does your school have an ROTC program? If so, you should take that class. It will give you a taste of military discipline. I did Naval ROTC in highschool.
