Obviously, I could just open a college book by U.S. & World Report or some other source, but I'd like to hear from people who have actually had interactions with schools.

Almost done with my my nursing pre-req's and starting to think about which schools I want to go to. I was thinking about going to a RN program at one of the hospitals here in san antonio, tx. It's 2 years and afterwards if I want to pursue a BSN I can do so through the baptist univeristy program they have. I was wondering if thats a good thing to do or try for the ADN program at a comm college here i've been looking at, the only problem is i qualify to apply but i dont have my math levels completed in order to do so, so thats the only thing thats keeping me from applying. Where as the RN program at the hospital doesnt require i have my math right now. I know that if i want a BSN i'll have to have it. I dont know what to do, so many decisions. Hoping to get into nursing school for FALL 2007.

Also... is it bad to take 2 science courses together in the same semster? Thinking about doing that for spring semster.

I wasn’t the kind of person who enjoyed reading at a young age. In fact, I had never actually sat down and read a book. However, sometimes my parents forced me to read a short story or a picture book which I didn’t even take seriously. Since, I didn’t enjoy reading; I always skipped pages and told my parents that I had actually read it. Therefore, I lacked of reading skills until I was ten years of age.

I didn’t used to read books or short stories because I didn’t like stories, but that it was just boring for me to sit there and read. However, I was a big fan of short stories or tales when they were told. Every night before going to be I was told stories and sometimes even jocks that made me laugh.

As I grew up, it became to the sense of me that reading is really important for me and of course for my siblings. Moreover, I started to force myself to read short stories and even picture books to improve my reading skills and to set a good example for siblings. From there on I started reading and sometimes I even read with my siblings to improve their reading skills also.

After I had the solid foundation for reading, I started to learn a new language with my mom: English. I was only around twelve years of age when I had my first English lesson. Slowly, the new language started to make sense to me and I began to apply those reading skills to the new language.

When we arrived in Canada, I was a bit familiar with the language and the first thing I did was to get books from the library. At first, I started off with short stories and then slowly went to harder and thicker books.

Now, that I am fifteen years of age I read fluently and still read books. My favorite author is RJ. Rowling, who has written the Saga’s of Darren Shan which are great books. I usually prefer to read at night or when I have nothing to do. I personally like adventure books and books that are told in first person.

My book total is over $400 and I am only taking two classes! I can only purchase one of my books used because the publisher changed the edition on the other three. I was going to buy the older editions cheaper, but a friend convinced me otherwise because she said they sometimes change homework problems and chapters get switched around in different editions. Who is in charge of this system and don't they understand that most college students are poor?

I'm in my second year of college and was interested in transferring somewhere else for my junior year. Lately, I've started getting a ton of things in the mail from an Ivy League University. It's not anywhere I would have even thought of applying to if they hadn't started sending me things. I didn't have great grades in high school, but my college grades have been perfect. Since they're sending me all this information, does this mean they're actually interested in me, or do colleges just send that stuff to everyone? If I do apply, I have to get a lot of recommendations and pay an expensive application fee. I just don't want to go to all that trouble if I don't really have a chance.

This is a question out of a book on the marketing industies. This chapter happens to be on the subject of prices we as consumers have to pay and on the industries that put these prices on their products or services.

I am curentley attending college for my associate degree in computer programming, but I would also love to do computer animation. Which computer route would be the best to take? I do not know much about computer animation and was also wondering what jobs would be available and if they were hard to get. Thanks

> etc... (including Shakespeare, The Beatles, Richard Branson) never went to university (and never would been taught what they implicity knew) and, bearing in mind that even the very top universities regularly churn out students who can barely come up with an original thought, and have to rely on spellcheckers and other people's essays, isn't it time that we stopped pretending that university students are necessarily the creme de la creme?

Using the internet has not been very helpful. I have an account set up with all of the job seeking websites and I check them everyday. I have probably applied to 100 jobs, if not more - I've been called back by about 10 and have had about 7 interviews. I haven't really been that interested in the jobs that I ended up being offered or they weren't willing to pay me what I am worth. Does anyone have any better ideas? By the way, I am a registered dietitian with about 2 years of solid experience - I have a biology degree and a nutrition degree and am working on my Masters. Thanks!
